PERTH BOUDOIR : FAQ

Usually when I get a new inquiry for a Boudoir Session, there is lots of questions! And I totally understand why – Boudoir is usually something that most people have never done before or ever thought they would do! It can be a scary thought at first but I promise, it totally easy! I’m not too scary and I promise I will guide you through the entire session, you won’t ever be left wondering how to pose or stand or if your hand is in the right spot etc.

I have put together a list of some of the most frequently asked questions when it comes to our Boudoir sessions. But of course, if you have any other questions that you are wondering, please email it through to me and I will be more than happy to answer all of your burning questions and ease your mind.

Q:     How long do I need to allow from my session to when I will need the final images/album?
A:     Ideally we recommend 4-6 weeks from your session until you need your finished album or prints.

Q:     Where will my Boudoir session be photographed?
A:      We have a beautiful Boudoir bedroom that has been designed especially for Boudoir Portraits. With soft grey walls, a linen and oak bedhead, wood look floors and white crisp bed sheets, it is elegant and feminine. The studio is flooded with the most gorgeous natural window light which is so soft and perfect for Boudoir Portraits. We are located in The Vines.

Q:     What about hair and make-up?
A:      Please come to your session with your hair and makeup done. Most girls prefer to have their hair out and curled but it is totally up to you! If you are getting married, it is a great idea to book your session for the same day as your hair and makeup trial, that way, you can see how it looks in photographs and natural light before your wedding day.

Q:    Who will see my images, do they have to go on your website?
A:       Again, this is completely up to you. Due to the nature of this type of portraits, I understand that not all girls would like their images shared and that is totally fine. When you come in for your Boudoir session, you will be given a form to fill in which will have different options for your images. You can either choose to only share detail/body shots that do not show your face and keep you anonymous, or you can choose to share images that do not show any nudity, or that you don’t mind them being shared.  I want my clients to be 100% comfortable and to decide who they want to see their images. Most girls end up loving their images so much and being so proud of them, that they  choose to allow us to share them, but there is absolutely no pressure.

Q:     Do I bring my own outfits?
A:      As every girl is a completely different shape and size, we do recommend you bring your own outfits, as then you can ensure that they not only represent you and are your style, but also fit you perfectly!

Q:     Can I bring someone with me to my shoot?
A:      Although I do not recommend it, as in our experience, more people watching your shoot equals less self confidence, you are able to bring a guest if you wish. But we do have a girls only rule in our boudoir studio. Please let us know if you are bringing a guest along, as we do have limited shooting space.

Q:      Will you photoshop my images?
A:      Yes, but it is completely up to you how much you want them retouched. Any images that you order or that you choose to put in an album will be airbrushed, skin softened, blemishes removed and your features enhanced. But some girls who are self conscious of their cellulite, stretch marks, scars etc, we can remove those sorts of things if the client requests for it to be done.

Q:     Can I just get the digitals?
A:      We do not sell digital files on disk. When you order an image, it is custom hand retouched, it is then printed at a professional lab in Melbourne to be printed. We want to ensure that any artwork that leaves our studio is of the highest professional quality. When you order a print or an album, you will receive the computer resolution digital file of that image.

Q:     How much do I have to spend?
A:      There is no minimum spend and you are not pressured into purchasing anything that you do not want to purchase. What you order is entirely up to you and what fits in your budget. We have a large range of different products, to suit any budget. From individual art prints, to framed enlargements, wall canvas prints, brag books, albums, photo boxes, etc. Many of our clients love their images so much that they choose to spend $1,000 – $1,700.
